Undergraduates and recent graduates who will have completed the equivalent of 2 or 3 semesters of college Spanish (Level A) or at least 4 or 5 semesters (Level B) may apply. Final Level placement is confirmed by a short language test administered during the Orientation. To be admitted, students must demonstrate a reasonably strong academic record and must be recommended by a member of their home faculty (who should include reference to the student’s Spanish linguistic level and ability).

The SIHS maintains a system of rolling admissions and, therefore, priority is given to qualified early applicants. To encourage interested students to apply early, the SIHS has two admission periods:
Students applying for Early Acceptance, in addition to receiving the above mentioned priority of consideration, will be granted a reduction of $300 from the regular fee.
